PE and Culture @STCM 🏆🥇⚽🏀🏈

Last half term has seen our cluster of primary schools engage in the theme of countries and culture for our PE events. This kicked off with a Cultural Games Festival for years 5/6 where students got to experience activities and sports from around the world. The more technical sports of Lacrosse and Australian Rules Football were popular along with the lesser known but hugely fun tagging games of Kho Kho from India and Shake from Tanzania.

This was followed by the Key Stage 1 Cultural Dance festival. We were fortunate enough to have Polly from @doorstep_arts visit each school beforehand to spend time preparing Dances inspired by different countries to perform at the festival. From India to Brunei to Malaysia and China, the children took us on a tour of the world performing with energy and enthusiasm.

As always the STCM sports leaders were on hand to assist in the smooth running of these events. Thanks to Shiphay Learning Academy TQ2 , @priory_catholic_primary_school, St Margaret’s Academy , Homelands Primary School and St Marychurch Primary School for embracing the festivals and getting stuck into our half term of culture!
