At St Cuthbert Mayne School, we welcome applications from students of all faiths and backgrounds
and are committed to providing an inclusive, supportive environment where every student can flourish.
Admission to Year 7 is coordinated through the local authority’s secondary school admissions process. Parents and carers should complete the Common Application Form and list St Cuthbert Mayne as their preferred school. As places are often highly sought after, families are encouraged to apply by the published deadline.
As a joint Catholic and Church of England school, St Cuthbert Mayne offers a faith-based admissions route for families wishing to apply on the grounds of religious commitment. Applicants seeking consideration under the school’s faith criteria should also complete a Supplementary Information Form, which may require confirmation from a parish priest or minister. This enables applications to be considered in accordance with the school’s published admissions policy.
We also welcome applications for in-year admissions from students seeking to join the school during Years 7–11. Whether families are moving into the area or looking for a change of school, applications are considered throughout the academic year, subject to the availability of places and the school’s admissions criteria. Our admissions team works closely with families to ensure a smooth and successful transition into school life.
Our Sixth Form welcomes both current students and external applicants. Entry is based on meeting the general Sixth Form requirements and any subject-specific criteria for chosen courses. With a broad range of pathways, students are supported to achieve their ambitions and prepare for their next steps. The Sixth Form represents the culmination of the journey through St Cuthbert Mayne from Year 7 onwards, building on the knowledge,
skills and values developed throughout their time at the school.
If you are applying for a place based on faith criteria you will need to download and complete the Supplementary Information Form. This should be completed by your Parish Priest or Minister and returned to our Admissions Officer by 31st October.
