Year 9 have been completing their second art project, ‘Unusual Portraits’.
Throughout the project, students explored drawing eyes in a range of media, developing their observational skills and experimenting with tone, texture and detail.
They also studied David Hockney’s famous ‘Joiner’ imagery, learning how artists can create unusual perspectives through photography and collage. For their final outcome, students researched the distinctive style of film director Tim Burton and created their own clay characters inspired by Corpse Bride, which was based on a 17th-century folktale.
The project encouraged creativity, imagination and experimentation, resulting in a fantastic collection of unique and expressive work.
