Modern Foreign Languages
Key Stage 3
- In Year 7, all students have 4 hours a fortnight of French.
- In Years 8 and 9, students have 3 hours a week of Spanish and 3 hours a week of French.
- Our French Schemes of work are based on Studio whilst our Spanish is based on Viva, both of which are published by OUP.
Key Stage 4
- Languages are an option at KS4: pupils may study French or Spanish or both.
- Pupils have 4 hours a fortnight.
- We follow the AQA Syllabus.
- 60% of the GCSE is assessed by 4 pieces of Controlled Assessment which are spread throughout the two year course.
- The remaining 40% is assessed by terminal li9stening and reading exams in May of year 11.
