A Level- AQA Geography

If you love writing, reading, and all things literature and linguistics- then this course is for you.

Geography offers a strong foundation in both Physical and Human Geography and in practical applied skills. You will study a wide range of global issues such as population growth and implications for the future, globalisation and its effects in different countries, and physical topics such as glacial systems, ecosystems and their management, and the water cycle.

Fieldwork is an integral part of the course and will form part of a non-examined assessment.

Component 1: Physical Geography
• You will look at Water and Carbon Cycles, Glacial Systems and Landscapes , Ecosystems under stress

Component 2: Human Geography
• You will study Global Systems & Global Governance, Changing Places, Population and Environment.

Component 3: Fieldwork Investigation
• You will complete an investigation based on

a question or issue related to any part of the specification, which includes data collected in the field, that is 3000-4000 words in length.

ASSESSMENT:

Component 1- (40%)
Written Exam 2hrs and 30 mins

Component 2 – (40%)
Written Exam 2hrs and 30 mins

Component 3 – (20%)
Fieldwork Investigation 3000-4000 words
